 Candy Yeandle and Ruthann Noble

Two scarecrow volunteers have been recognized by Festivals and Events Ontario for their contribution to the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festivals ranking among the Top 100 Festivals and Events for the past four years. Candy Yeandle and Ruthann Noble are the masterminds behind the creation of 250 scarecrows yearly, bringing to life the annual invasions theme with a creativity that is boundless and an energy that inspires hundreds of volunteers who gather at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion in Meaford in May, June and again in August, in preparation for the invasion of the award-winning line-up of scarecrows in early September.

Candy and Ruthann have been hoarding red and white clothing for months to dress this year’s scarecrows in a way befitting Canada’s 150th celebrations, in celebration of great Canadian personalities and achievements.

Congratulations to Candy and Ruthann.
