Let the party begin: Scarecrows take to the streets

DSC_9151True to form, with the September long weekend over, scarecrows began to appear in Meaford’s downtown today.

Note the mics and instruments – this year’s scarecrows are tuning up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival with music.

More of these whimsical creations are expected to arrive throughout the week and hang around for the big day on Sept. 30th when the OPP Golden Helmets Precision Motorcycle Team will kick off the celebrations with a performance on Sykes Street before the annual parade and family festival.
